Not surprised that Jamie won yesterday’s match up
So much for those who were saying that nostalgia would cause a lot of older characters to win over the newer characters. First Jazmin trounced Jennifer, and now Lara is dominating Eva.
This is gonna make it really interesting when Lara faces Isabelle in the second round.
I always seem to vote for the under dog. Sorry, I am not a fan of Lara.
Why downvote me just because I don’t like the same character? What is wrong with people?
Rule one of any fan website – Unless you want people to react negatively, don’t say that you don’t like something that’s universally liked. That’s generally something you keep to yourself.
In other words, yes, it is very common for people to downvote others on comments that they don’t agree with. Any upvote or downvote system usually becomes that.
That would make sense if I said that Lara is a crap character, but this “you have a different opinion, I am downvoting.” It’s childish.
Some would say that saying “I’m not a fan of Lara” is the same thing as saying “Lara is a crap character.” It’s in the same ballpark of negativity, so I can certainly see how “I’m not a fan of Lara” could be seen as insulting to a character that people enjoy.
No, it really can’t. There is no logical way to turn that as negative as crap character. I am sorry, but what you just said is a poor justification for childish actions.
Maybe not in your mind it can’t be turned as negative as that, but I can see how it could be seen as negative as that in other people’s minds. Think outside of yourself on this one.
Also, I never said that I agree with those who downvoted your comment. I’m just saying that this is how they, and to a larger extent, the internet, think. If you don’t like the justification, that’s on you, not me.
That’s why I used the word “logical.” Logic follows rules that are agreed upon. I can turn anything even a clearly positive statement negative in my mind, it doesn’t mean I am right to do so, it doesn’t mean it follows any logic.
And I never said you did agree, but I said you are justifying a childish action which you are.
Fun fact: downvotes don’t do anything. There’s no reason to be upset about getting downvoted, especially when you say “i voted for the underdog”. It’s a lot less effort for someone to tap “disagree” than it is to write out an argument.
I am not upset, I am annoyed. It is like really?
What’s amazing is there are no duplicate names. 🙂
Not for main characters anyway. There have been names reused on small-role characters.
I was not expecting such a blowout from a 8 Vs 9 matchup.
People remember better what is current. Eva was like 5 years ago (not counting that cameo in SBS animation)
On the one hand, I actually loved Eva as a character in Fractured (even though the comic is one that I consider the weakest out of all seven main comics).
On the other hand, however, Lara is kinda better in my opinion, especially considering that Favors and Followers is not only the current ongoing comic, but anything involving Sili-Gel is an automatic YES for me.
So, as much as I don’t want to, my vote has to be for Lara. Anyone else, and I would’ve voted Eva, but since it’s Lara…

Also, here’s a meme that JD Washington made (which he’s unable to post due to him being on the original site now) regarding this vote:
